it's in the jeans

This isn't much of a testimonial, but that's okay.

I've been doing real CF for about ten weeks now, and I've made lots of performance and overall fitness gains. Though I still have a long way to go, I'm as happy as can be about the progress that I've made so far in the gym.

For as nice as that is, one of the coolest results came about ten minutes ago, as I was walking down the stairs in my house, grumbling happily about my durned blue jeans and how I have to hold them way up to keep from stepping all over them. Many a year has it been since I've had to deal with that as an issue.

Re: it's in the jeans

It's a great "problem" to have. A couple months ago I went out to buy some new jeans for the first time in awhile. I ended up buying a pair 2" less than my norm... and probably could have gone less, but I had some irrational fear. I just bought them and still use a belt

Re: it's in the jeans

I'm in the same boat as both you guys here.

When I started CrossFit in May, my size 36 jeans were starting to get tight and my wife bought me a pair of 38's. That was the last straw.

I'm now using the last notch on my belt for my 36's, and just the other week I bought a pair of 34's that fit real nice (tight on my quads/butt though, which is a good sign).

Congrats guys! One detrimental effect of CrossFit is that the cost of alterations sure adds up. I'm certain the health benefits outweight the cost. Plus the cute Asian girl taking measurements helps too!

Tell me about it. When I was in High School, finding dress shirts that fit was a nightmare. Apparently manufactures think the only way to have an 18" neck is to have a 60" belly. =/

Now, I'm having the same problem again. My dress shirts are all super-tight in the neck/shoulders, but huge in the gut. *sigh*

It's a good problem to have though

Re: it's in the jeans

I now what you mean! I've had to replace my wardrobe about 3X over. Good thing the Goodwill is on my way to work! I started as a 12, and now I'm a 4. I originally underestimated the dramatic weight loss I would have and just took my clothes to the taylor to get them taken in. What a waste of money! Two weeks later they were too big again! Sigh.
I loved my bigger wardrobe so much that I thought about sabotaging myself so I could fit into it again. But my desire to get a better Fran time nipped that right in the bud!

That's awesome! I remember my 46-48" pants...was fired up when I bought my first 34's....then thought I was done when I bought my 32's....haven't had those out in a while because my new 30's fit too nicely.

Wow. Going from 48" to 30"!! I have a long way to go until I'm that far.

I've been in 42's for quite some time. I bought a pair of 40's a couple of weeks ago that are already getting a little big. I'd like to get down toward the 36" range, but I'm not too horribly worried about that. I just wanna keep pushing hard in the gym and driving for improvement there. Couple that with a sound diet (which I'm doing pretty well on), and I'm sure I'll be happy with my physical evolution along the way.

I'd say that down 12-14 pants sizes is damned good.

Thanks!

Not that I have much choice in the matter though. If I were to try to back off in any way, everyone from my box would come hunt me down and put me through five consecutive cycles of Murph.
