You won't get as effective a workout if you further injure your knees, either...

Strength movements can potentially do you a lot of good. High impact movements, though, start to have a bad risk vs. reward tradeoff, IMO.

TONS and TONS of massage on the Quadriceps , TFL & It band, and Psoas muscles. They are the devil when it comes to knee pain. Massage those areas at least 2x per day and follow it up with the couch stretch.
