haha. i guess it doesn't really help my point to bring God into a scientific-based argument. regardless, the point of my post remains.

Re: Zone-Paleo and Nuts

p.s. darryl, i wasn't trying to be a jerk or pick a fight. and the last sentence of my original post in this thread definitely holds no ground here. my apologies. the other question from the post about hormone therapy is the important one. you just seem to contradict yourself because you speak against fad diets (which i agree with you about) but you always seem to bad mouth fat and make non-fat/low-fat suggestions. i do not seek to make things ugly.

well then why do so many people have to go on hormone therapy in this day and age of the low-fat craze? fat and cholesterol are important for our sex hormones as i'm sure you know, not to mention every single cell membrane in our bodies is made of lipids.
Fat and cholesterol are important however there is no requirement for a dietary source of fat other than the n-6 and n-3 essential fatty acids (which must be supplied in the diet) or cholesterol as they can be synthesized endogenously to meet demand.

you always say for people not to go on fad diets, yet you're suggestions are always low-fat.
I generally recommend that people obtain ~20% of total calories from fat as this is the amount typically consumed by the Japanese and other populations that have a low incidence of CVD/CHD.

just wondering, do you think God made avacados by accident?
Who knows why God does anything? I mean I'm still wondering why She inflicted Billy Ray Cyrus on the world.......

Thanks!

Butter is awesome, I've been eating it by itself to get in more calories, it's so good.
