I coach high school & youth swimming and started Crossfit 13 months ago. I didn't fully implement Crossfit into my coaching until I tried it on myself. This fall is the first full season I've been able to subject our girl's team to Crossfit workouts into a swimming workout. The girls thought I was insane at first. On Crossfit days, 20 minutes of our workout is gut wrenching stuff like Tabata with Butterfly. Yes, it was brutal. But these high school girls are setting personal bests every meet. For a team of 15 girls, we're averaging 20 personal bests a meet. School records are falling and, for the first time, one of our kids will probably go to the State tournament.
