The Obligatory "One Year of CrossFit, Bow Before My Studmuffiness" Thread
Yep, been a tad over a year since I started my attempts at CrossFit. Perhaps two of those months were non-workouts due to personel or work concerns. Some things changed over time as I improved: CFWU went from 5 reps to 15, double unders became my standard sub, I'm now doing HSPU to sub the dips to improve there, and my entire ship thinks I'm nuts or the guy that does the crazy workout (it's a command ship, but I've met only one onboard that's done CrossFit in the past).
Seriously, I offer no testimony that hasn't been said or demonstrated before nor are my results as amazing as have been shown by others. Still, my knees no longer hurt going on the stairs (it was a muscle imbalance, gee), my sleep and diet has improved, my stamina is unmatched to my prior peaks. I'm probably at the same strength levels when it comes to bench, squat and deads but my press and core strength has really improved. What I like is that I'm still improving in most areas even though the gains are not as apparent now. My only true physical limitation has been my left shoulder ROM due to surgery on it when I was 20. If anyone noticed my posts during the WOD's, I like to include ALL my previous results if possible, so here's my improvements using my favorite WOD: Cindy. Note: Did 18 rounds in less than 20 minutes when the WOD was to do 20 rounds for time in August. July 14, 2007 Age - 32, Wt - 205#, Ht - 68" CFWU(10) x3 (subbed 40 tuck jumps) WOD - Cindy as Rx'd, 20 second rest between rounds Total - 16 Rounds, 178 HR avg ************************* Apr. 16, 2007 Age - 32, Wt - 210# WOD - as Rx'd, Cindy w/ 20 sec rests Total - 14 rounds ************************** Mar. 18, 2007 Age - 32, Wt - 210# WOD - max rounds in 20 min: 5 jumping pull-up, 10 push-ups, 15 squats Total - 15 ************************************* Feb 25, 2007 Age - 32, Wt - 215# WOD - max rounds of 5 jumping Pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 squats in 20 minutes.
