My 30 Day Strict Paleo Challenge - Day 7 - Got Some Questions

I was inspired by the post at http://whole9life.com/category/whole-30/
to give this a shot.

I'm on day 7 and got a few questions.

Every day since day 2 my morning bowel movement has been very loose - borderline diarrhea. I'm wondering if this is just from my boy adjusting or maybe if my body isn't agreeing with something I'm putting in it.

Here's a typical day of eating for me:

Breakfast:
2 Whole Eggs
2 Egg whites
Some kind of pepper for my vegetable
A few walnuts
Piece of fruit (apple or plum)
Eggs and veggie cooked in 1 or two tbsp. of olive oil

Lunch:
About 5 oz. chicken grille with olive oil
Good size helping of steamed broccoli and carrots
A few walnuts
Piece of Fruit

Afternoon Snack:
Couple ounces of chicken
Piece of fruit
Couple walnuts

Dinner:
5 oz. chicken or lean beaf
large portion of vegetables (same as above)
Piece of fruit
A few walnuts.

Evening Snack:
Pretty similar to my first snack.

I'm using absolutely no condiments or dairy an have completely cut out coffee which I often have a very strong cup of in the morning before I workout.

I have also completely cut out salt which I would normally have with every meal on my food.

Also, any opinions on when the cravings go away (if ever) for salty foods?

Thanks for any insight.

John

You said yourself that you've drastically changed your diet less than a week ago. Change what goes in one end, change what comes out the other.
From my experience it'll settle itself out in a few more days. I am now more regular than I have ever been. Yay!

Yea, I want to get some of my fat from a better quality fat, like walnuts.

True Paleo means no salt

Why do you think walnut is a better quality fat?

Robb Wolf says that walnuts are the best quality fat you can get among nuts and I just figure that it's gotta be better than egg fat. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, i'd rethink it if i were you. Walnuts are around 10:1 O6:O3 with enriched eggs being about 2:1.

Nice job so far! +1 to what others have said. Everything will adjust after a couple of weeks. Don't worry too much about it, just make sure you're staying hydrated. Also, yes. Yolks, eat them. Think of the logic here--the yolk would never have been thrown out (if that's the philosophy you're following). Just try to get the best eggs possible to maximize this - pastured free range farm eggs. Yum.

It took my body a good few weeks to get used to paleo so I wouldn't worry too much, just keep it up.
