2010 CF Games Event Spitballing!

So let's hear your best guesses for events at this years Games!

Based on the articles, videos, and general discussion, I think we're going to see a Strongman-type event take place. My guess is a stone event.

Think the pool workout is ever going to happen? Any construction crews being seen out at Aromas?

I don't think there was any question as to Mikko's dominance of fitness in the '09 Games, so the bar is set high to design workouts to truly test the widest range of modalities.

100 dumbbell curls for time with 50lbs, followed by reading a book for time on a treadmill.

Re: 2010 CF Games Event Spitballing!

my guess is that the amount of events will be about the same - the overall volume will be slightly less due to multiple injuries last year.

Other than that - I'd guess we'll see thrusters, pull-ups, muscle-ups, hspu's, running, rowing, box jumping, double unders, overhead squats & Co in multiple different combinations.

I wouldn't be surprised if there indeed be some strongman style lift involved and also possibility of some gymnastics movement (handstand walk/hold for distance/time or max duration L-sit etc).

We've got an indoor pool at our Sectionals facility.

Damon,

I was expecting a pool workout (slight chance of that) for Dirty South Regionals but the location is different from last years - but I'll still be preparing for that

I am speculating there's going to be a gymnastics bias at this year's Games.

Shane,
Is that based on the "gymnasticsy" WODs MP has done lately?

Yes. Also, a lot of the videos posted are of gymnastics-type feats, more than ever.

Plus, the past 3 Games have been devoid of anything other than basic stuff like HSPU's, pullups, and muscle-ups and I'm sure they're interested in shaking things up.

Re: 2010 CF Games Event Spitballing!

I think they'll have more gymnastics and strongman stuff as well, but I think they should think about how they program the gymnastics.

Yeah, for some gymnasts, something like a Front Lever is kinda easy. For others, a 495lb deadlift is easy. If they're going to have a WOD that is:

Some stuff
Do a Front Lever
Some more stuff

And then they DNF anyone that can't do the front lever, then I think they should also have

Some stuff
Deadlift 495lbs
Some more stuff
