What diet for strength cycle and fat loss?

I'm just coming off an injury. I'm going to do a Power to the People by Pavel Tsatsouline cycle or 2. I want to loose as much fat as possible while doing this. I'm also going to do tabata intervals on the exercise bike or with a KB. What would be the best diet for my goals?

If you skimp on claories on Power to the People, you will burn out in a hurry. Deadlifts 5 days a week is rough.

Another vote for the AD. Takes commitment to get through the 12 day adaptation period, and to eat the calories you need...but it works.

Re: What diet for strength cycle and fat loss?

Sorry to hijack this thread, but it's relevant. I've just googled the anabolic diet, and I can't believe no-one talks about it more. It seems too good to be true (well, it's very similar to what I do already), that you can just fill up on the best type of protein and fat there is, with fruit and veggies during the week, then carb it at the weekends. It just seems like eating paleo with a weekend of cheating. If you followed this and took it easy at the weekend i.e. got your carbs from fruit, veg and the occasional cheesecake, shouldn't this, considering the purported results of strength and fat loss, be an almost perfect nutrition plan?

Very, very limited opportunities for fruit consumption during the week. Other than that, you get it.

Re: What diet for strength cycle and fat loss?

James,

It actually does get talked about quite a bit. See Ryan Lynch's thread, it is super long. There are a bunch out there like it too.

Get jeff's warning, it isn't the easiest. Not every body will work well in Ketosis. 30g of carbs or less for 12 days, carb up on the weekend, the type of carbs you take in during that 48 hour period could directly impact your goals. IE crap carbs vs clean carbs.
