You bring up an interesting point...is it necessary to break up the meals throughout the day to keep the metabolism engaged?

I'm doing so specifically to keep my metabolism engaged as long as possible by constantly putting food in me. Remember, my goal is first and foremost to get rid of the excess fat. Once it's gone, I'll focus on functional strength across all modalities, blah blah blah...

Is there a better way? Is this idea outdated and no longer valid?

Consider the exact opposite approach, Intermittent Fasting, but don't tell to many people, it's a well guarded secret. To get your Magic Decoder Ring and the secret password, you need to visit the PM boards. That's all I can say, or risk death, as it's a Cult thing. I'm sure you understand.................

Jay,
The super secret society of IF'ers is going to take this one up with you.

I think IF (sssshhhhh) would work great with the AD. Most over at the PM board do a cyclical approach as it is, though not as restrictive as the AD.

Re: Anabolic Diet - My Progress

Day - 10 of indoc phase. Finally got the "crash" today. Feeling totally lethargic and sleepy. Fortunately this should only last a day or 2 at most based on anecdotal evidence. Going to do my best to get a work out in anyway...also, weight finally seems to have settled for the time being.

Re: Anabolic Diet - My Progress

Hey Ryan I was wondering what's the name of the anabolic diet book, is it just anabolic diet? It kind of sounds like Atkins...my Dad did that a long time ago...but then ago I'm just now learning about the world of nutrition.

Hi,

It's called "The Anabolic Diet" by Dr. Mauro Di Pasquale. Amazon will have it, but you may also want to check his website for more info on it:

Thanks! I'm hanging in there...only a couple more days to go. Took an hour nap and napped hard. Could easily have stayed asleep if I wasn't woken up by the phone. Going to sleep good tonight, I'm sure.

Starting to get some sugar cravings.

Re: Anabolic Diet - My Progress

Hmm... Would this look like a typical day in the anabolic diet? (link wfs)

The reason I ask is because that's my fitday journal. I'm reading up on the AD now, and it sounds remarkably similar to what I've been eating since starting up the 21 day sugar/grain challenge.
