Re: Starting over with Starting Strength

It was the Chuck plan. I even celebrated the fact with a backyard lumberjack metcon. My son was apparently giving a play-by-play as I dragged the tires around the yard,

"He's fast."
"He's not that fast."
"He's slow."

I've often wondered that too. I thought it was the model of helical domains in myoglobin, the protein linked to kidney damage in rhabdomyolysis. See attached image at the bottom. Thanks for clearing that up.

The sleep-deprivation is so cumulative. I remember, all too well, those sleep-deprived days when the kids woke me up at night. All they had to do was cough. Now I can't drag them out of bed in the morning.

Great job on the BS even though you say it wasn't 100%. Also big kudos for even trying the MUs three times in a row!

How very appropriate. Glad to hear it's staying. Although, Crossfit girls constantly bugging you to post a pic is a nice problem to have!

Certainly better than having them begging you to take one down. And aside from the rotating avatar maven herself (who can't seem to get away from that old favorite ), there's really not that much clamoring going on.

Awesome hike run with JB! Those pics just about make me cry living here in flat-@$$ Tidewater, VA! Love the "Types of Fun" list as well. Think I have plenty of examples of all!

Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing the wealth of knowledge you've gathered!

Clamor Clamor

Hike looks awesome, Patrick. I can't imagine hiking for time - I've never tried it! I've done that WAAAAY back when - around freshman year of college (went to a school up in MA). I need a good hike and I'll be up around Boston this weekend so I'll have to remember to get one in if I can.

Hiking for time doesn't look that different from the way I used to hike, although then, I wouldn't use a stopwatch, I'd just push on for the heck of it, although I would take more frequent rests on longer days, so as not to burn myself out before I'd reached my objective.

FWIW, the foliage around Mt. Wachusett is looking pretty spectacular right now and should be better by next weeknd, so that could be a reasonably close-to-Boston hiking option for you. BTW, which of the 30-odd colleges around Boston were you at?

Okay...does your heart not melt everytime you hear stuff like this come out of their mouths?
