Re: Norfolk Naval Base

Thanks for great update.
Yes, the website is unsafe, without proper instruction.

Noticed some divers in the gym here at NAVSTA..i'm guessing they don't have their own equipment (not as greatly funded as NSW/EOD.)

Might have an ability to acquire space with their command, near the piers.

Any divers out there?

Oh and Adam I just thought it very topical also that the Navy Network here says that your website is unsafe! lol
Het waitaminnit,I'm in that last category, and have been probably since before you joined.

If you are open for change then you do not qualify for the last category!

That is reserved for the ones who think "Because that is the way we have always done it" is an acceptable answer.

I refuse to give up my salty crustiness because of some so-called willingness to change. Maybe, I just like workouts that work, did you ever think of that? Impetuous whippersnapper

Boatswain'as Mate= proud enlisted keeper of Navy tradition.

AJ if you're following this thread still, and workout at NOB which gym, when? I might be available as a partner or coach if you're doing a group WOD. (I've got KBs to 70lb, LI and KB instructor)

Re: Norfolk Naval Base

Currently, my dates and times at NOB gym are sporadic, especially since i enjoy my garage more.

As a D.H., my only time (if available) to go to gym is 0500, if i can squeeze it in.

May change when i xfer to DESRON next month...we'll see.

Thanks for info, i'll keep you posted.

Re: Norfolk Naval Base

So crazy old thread bump. But it seems swfft is starting to get it's footing again. We have a gym now with average equipment. I was introduced to crossfit just last month by Adam (aj). After searching around the forums for anyone else here on base I discovered this is pretty much the only thread (hence the old bump) Time are still a little sporadic, but we could use some more folks coming out when we do have our workouts. Look me up in the global or message me here for more info.

As of right now our next session is scheduled for 21dec 0600 at the USMC gym right next to gate 3.

Re: Norfolk Naval Base

You will be back eventually - our schedule is really sporadic right now, due to an exercise and the holidays. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we start to see some momentum in the new year!
