Short Leg Syndrome

Found I have it (short leg syndrome)from a PT after going there for post microdiscectomy surgery rehab. It is what probably caused my problems in the first place. The surgery had to be done, but now want to know how to best move forward. My PT so he will work to getting better aligned. Wondering if anyone out has or had same deal and hoped to learn from there experiences.

Re: Short Leg Syndrome

Is it anatomically short (genetics) or functionally short where there's some dysfunction of the femur-pelvis-SI joint?

The former can be helped with orthotics. Latter the PT or possibly chiro should be able to adjust.

I'm personally having some problems with the latter so it's irritating especially if it's caused major problems like it has for my movement patterns. Fortunately no major injuries or anything though but I do have some disproportionate hypertrophy. Sucks..

Re: Short Leg Syndrome

I think its the later, or at least I hope. It might be a mix of the two, because I believe I remember a Doc saying when I was very young that I had Scoliosis. I guess I will find out more once my back is in better shape for the PT to do some work on it. I love to run and after 3 months of waiting for my back now I get backed up again ahhhhh. Back to the eliptical I go.
