I was thinking when either of us hit either goal, since I figure I can hit the DL in the next 4-6 months and I could see you adding 10 lbs to your OHP in that timeframe. Honestly I could see you adding 70 lbs to your DL in that timeframe too, given your squat numbers... I doubt I'll add 18 lbs to my OHP in the next year. I'll be very happy if I can push 135 in that time.

I actually recently purchased some bands for exactly that purpose. That and so I can more fully utilize the westside methodology. Also built a box for box squats, and a sled for dragging that doubles as a platform for defecit deads. We'll see how it all goes.

December 19th
Today was fun. Jared came over again, so we did a team WOD (Total time after each movement is posted beside it): For Time: 75 Parallette Pass Throughs (PPT) - 4:25 100 KB Snatches @20KG (Total between arms) - 10:16 150 Handstand Wall Run (Total between arms) - 13:00 100 Ball Slams @20# - 17:23 75 Box Jumps @18" - 20:05 Total Time: 20:05 Not much to say. It was fun, but the ground beside the rock we used for box jumps was slippery with mud, so it was a bit of a pain. Ah well. |

December 20th
Went into the weight room today not expecting much, boy was I wrong... PP 5-5-5 45x3x5 85x5 100x3 115x1 125x1 135x5 140x5 150x5 (PR ![]() Waited about 20 mins simply because I could not bring myself to start it, but then I eventually did. Fran 21-15-9 Thrusters @95# Pullups Time: 7:04 I know I could have hit 6:50, as I spent a fair bit of time off the bar. But SO happy I hit this, that means I hit 2/3 fitness goals for the year (2xBW BS & Sub-10 Fran Rx'ed). Unless I drop 10 pounds and hit 130 again, its not gonna happen for a couple months. 12 thrusters for first set, and by the end was down to 6's, 5's, and 4's, with MAYBE 1 set of 3 because that's all I had left in round 2 (I think). Pullups were not all out (About 90%) because I did not want to tear up my hands. |

Sumo DL 5-5-5 45x3x5 135x5 155x3 175x1 200x1 225x1 240x5 255x5 265x5 (PR ![]() Some reps were touch and go, some were reset. This was because my grip was slipping because to sumo on the bar I was using, you have to grab the smooth part. I almost dropped the bar twice because of my hook grip slipping up. |

December 23rd
Today was awesome. Warmed up with some heavy chins, then a metcon. Didn't expect to do chins, but I just started putting heavier dumbbells between my legs and pulling. 1RM Weighted Chin-up (Dumbbell Between Legs) 45x1 50x1 55x1 60x1 65x1 70xf 70xf 70xf 70xf 70xf 70xf I think 65 is a PR. 70 it was iffy whether or not my chin got over across all attempts, so I won't be counting them. Waited 20 mins or so, and then I strung my rings up on the basketball net. 9-7-5 Ring MU HS walk (length of gym, I'm not sure about distance but its a full size high school gym. If anyone knows, please give me a shout) Time: 8:59 Shoulders are wrecked right now Spent the next 45m-1h doing some skill work with MU, forward rolls from support, backward roll kips, and attempting some one ring, 2 handed MU, which me and my buddies all failed at. |
