I was on fire today. I didn't feel spectacular going into today, and figured I would hit 230# for 1 or so. I was wayyyyyy wrong. ![]() BS 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 40x3x5 95x5 135x3 165x1 195x1 215x1 225x1 (Heavy) 235x1 (Felt solid) 245x1 (PR by 5) 255x1 (Felt more solid than I thought it would have been) 260x1 (Tough) 265x1 (f) (Came forward) 265x1 (PR ![]() Really psyched about this, I just felt on top of the world today. I took 2 rest days in a row this weekend because I felt beat up, and I'm happy I did. Anyways, waited 10 mins and did this: 21-15-9 KB Taters @20KG Pushups Situps Time: 5:44 This was cool, I like taters. Thanks to Jay for giving me the idea when I read his log entry with it a couple days ago. Everything was unbroken, however I was resting at the top for a bunch of reps. I should be able to hit sub 5 going all out, no breaks. |

Bench Press 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 40x3x5 80x5 115x3 130x1 140x1 145x1 155x1 160x1 165x1 170x1 (PR ![]() 175xf 175xf (I think I could have gotten this with some minor technique changes, I'll have to get some coaching) Anyways, for some reason, I decided to do something I did not realize was so stupid until I was halfway through. 1, 1-2-1, 1-2-3-2-1, etc. until 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 1 Power Clean @135# 2 Pistols 3 Wall Balls @20#, 10ft. Target 4 KB Taters @20KG 5 Burpees 6 KB Snatches @20KG 7 Situps 8 Slam Ball Throws @20# 9 Box Jumps, 18" (Rock outside my house) 10 KB Swings @20KG Time: 33:07 So basically, do the first movement, then then first + the second + the first, until you go through all ten and back down. I did this outside, at zero degrees Celsius, and it was a terrible mistake. Hands were only JUST warm enough to not need gloves, but I definitely was unable to go at max intensity. I'll try this again in the spring and aim for 25:00. Today was okay, nothing special. |

In regards to technique issues with your bench, the guys at CF Football just posted a short video on bench technique. It's nothing special but it may steer you in the right direction. Head over to the site and check it out. It should be linked on the post from a few days ago. I finally decided to follow their programming and started a month ago. And I'm not stopping. Love their stuff! (shameless plug...haha).

Today was a pretty slow day, kind of tired, nothing special, so I did something very small. 5xFT: 5 DL @95# 10 Burpees: Time: 3:51 Debating on whether or not I should do a 3-3-3-3-3 Snatch-Grip Deadlift tomorrow. Maybe I'll just go 3-3-3 sets across. |

So I didn't want to DL today, but wanted to go heavy, so I figured I would squat. Then it dawned on me that I have never done a 20RM squat. BS 20RM 40x3x5 95x5 130x3 145x2 160x1 170x1 185x20 This was terrible. I was wrecked by rep 10, but just took it one at a time. Filmed it and rewatched to make sure I hit 20. Legs were like Jell-O by the end. Cons:I know my core wasn't tight. I felt it in my thoracic when I finished, and 45 mins later, my neck is a little stiff. So it may have been just a tad too much for me. |
