Home Gym - How to Hang Rings

Hey folks,
Been stalking the forums on how people have hung their gymnastic rings. Got a bunch of Rogue gear and compiled your ideas into something that would work for me. Here's a blog post on how I hung the rings in the garage. Next will be pull up bars!

Re: Home Gym - How to Hang Rings

I hung mine in the studs of the garage ceiling. I went into the attic and drilled down through the studs and drywall so I knew that the eyelets would be solid. I had 8" eyelet bolts and lock nuts and threaded the bolts through the hole and used two nuts to secure them into the studs.

My ceiling is 10'

I also did the same thing for the stud bar when I put it in.

If anyone wants pictures i can put them up for you.

Yep, muscle ups, ring dips, ring rows, etc. Totally solid. Ceiling is 10ft. 2in. high. I'm 5'9", so my short stature works to my advantage here!

@Leroy--yes, I'd like to see some pics of your set-up. I was thinking of hanging my rings the same way.
Thanks!

All links are safe for work.

I didn't take any pictures of the attic space. The eye bolts are 8" long and have washers on both ends. I drilled directly through the studs and on the top placed a washer then a nut then a lock nut on the top of that and tightened them all together.

Cool--thanks for sharing, Leroy! (now I have an idea of what to do with my hallway lights when I replace them, too!).

No problem Dave. I had those put in when I built the house.
