Re: 2013 Goals?

Maybe you should keep your goals to yourself . . .

http://www.ted.com/talks/derek_siver..._yourself.html (WFS)

The guy's point is basically that we get an instant sense of accomplishment by declaring goals to others. Then you don't follow through as much because you already got a lot of the good feeling up front without working for it.

Interesting thing to consider.

Though I do like seeing what people want to accomplish, so keep em coming, I guess, haha.

Re: 2013 Goals?

My post didn't actually kill this thread did it? I find that hard to believe. Maybe people just lost interest . . .

Re: 2013 Goals?

A little late to the thread here.

Currently all of my skill goals are based off of the Athletic Skills levels found at CrossFit Seattle Athletic Skill Levels. (WFS)

Here is my current question for the crew in this thread:

When it calls for Hanstand Hold x 1 minute is this a hold against the wall or off of the wall? I am aiming for off the wall but unsure how obtainable that is in a 60-90 day timeframe. If away from the wall I need to move to another category and add additional work to achieve this.

However, here are my current goals based on attempting to round myself out on the Skill Levels and fixing my weaknesses.

Most of the 30 day goals are those that I believe I can do yet have never tested. The 30-60 day list are those skills that I have been sporadically working on yet believe if I concentrate my efforts I can complete in that timeframe. This concept continues as the days increase.

Note, I am still learning how to row.

Next 30 Days (As of October 20)
• 30 Sec Static Hang (Complete)
• 30 V-Ups (Complete)
• 24kg KB Snatch x30 Each Arm
• Clean Bodyweight (180) (Complete)
• Hang Knees to Elbows x15 Unbroken (Complete)
• 500m Row in 1:45
• 10 inch Vertical Jump

Next 30-60 Days
• Pistols x10 Each Leg (Complete)
• 400m Run 1:19
• Thrusters 45 reps @ 1/2 Bodyweight (90#)
• Dips x20 (Close)
• L-Sit 10secs
• Snatch 1/2 Bodyweight

Next 90 Days
• Handstand Hold x1 Minute (Unassisted ?)
• 2000m Row 8:10
• 1 Mile Run 6:00

Next 90-365 Days
• 40 Ring Push-Ups
• Deadlift 2 1/2 Bodyweight (45)
• OHS Bodyweight (180)
• 20 Kipping Pull-Ups
• 1x Strict Muscle-Up

Re: 2013 Goals?

I would like to deadlift 405, squat 315, and bench 225 all for at least a couple reps! Especially the squat

Re: 2013 Goals?

My biggest goal right now is to get my back healed up (fully) so I can properly compete in the Open. So far, it is progressing nicely but still a ways to go.
