Yeah, mine's like 130lbs less than yours. And looking at it, I round a little and let the bar get a little forward. But, I'm willing to hear any suggestions or criticisms.
Agreed. Also, that was all thoracic bending...and not too much of it. I'd monitor it as you go and continue to improve.

I'm usually weak off the floor, and being short, if I can drive past mid shin, I can usually finish the pull. I've also tried 400 conventionally, and I can usually get it an inch or so off and then fail. Maybe its time to give it another go.

So it make sense to me that it looks easy, but it sure didn't feel that way.

Here's the last lift of the day at my last PL event @ 220 kg (485#) - I had already set an Open and Masters Raw record squat that day at 202.5 kg (446.2#) so granted, I was pretty fatigued. Needless to say - it is a max effort lift.
I can tell that my set up is terrible. My feet are way too wide, which makes my hands too wide. My hips rise a little early, and there is some rounding in my high thoracic spine, but my lumbar spine does not round. Anyway - the judges gave me 2 red lights on this lift.

Guys,
Some good discussion on this thread, some bad. Let's try to keep it constructive.

Thanks,

Did they tell you why the lift failed? It wasn't super pretty but I didnt see a hitch or anything.

Thanks, Josh!

Eric-
The two back judges said one of my knees was not locked out.
However - and maybe this is just my eyes - I can clearly see my knees unlock (they pop forward) when I lower the bar.
Oh well.

Belts do not help strengthen your core. They prevent you from building core strength. Always using a belt when you go heavy will build a dependency on it. I stopped using a belt 4 years ago and have had no back problems, and can still pull just as much weight

+1 on that. Haven't been around that long, but I took a look at his workout log a week or two ago and have seen his improvements. Inspiring stuff, Sean.
