What is the one thing you always have to scale . . .

and it absolutely infuriates you?
For me it's anything involving a pullup bar. It's humbling to crank out 100# power cleans and then stare at the bar for 10 minutes because you can't get your toes to touch the bar.

Re: What is the one thing you always have to scale . . .

Bodyweight pressing movements drive me crazy. I hit a wall after ~20 total reps of HSPU's, where I can only do 1-2 at a time and eventually simply cannot do another rep. Ring dips reduce me to 2-3 reps at a time pretty fast, and even pushups kill me. With "cindy" I probably spend 2/3 of my time doing pushups.

It's frustrating because I'm small and light, so bodyweight stuff is usually a strength. Also because at first these moves feel super-easy. The first 10 HSPU's or 40 pushups are cake and then I just hit a wall and my arms can't recover... it feels like I can always take a few second breather and bust out a few more pullups, squats, deadlifts, KB swings, box jumps, run a bit further, or whatever, but the same doesn't hold true for pressing movements.

Power cleans. I don't scale them but after a few rounds I can't do more than 2 or 3 in a row for the rest of the workout. I just can't do them fast enough.

I'd suggest scaling until you can complete a rep-powerclean workout without dropping the bar, so you develop the muscular/neuro endurance for high-rep cleans. Yes, they suck...

Muscle ups. I can do a few but I'm way shy of being able to do 30 in a day let alone a reasonable time frame.

Anything with the bar overhead and bigger weights. Huge weakness and I have to scale a few of the hero WODs.

Re: What is the one thing you always have to scale . . .

HSPU for sure.
pushups i can do but not well
same thing with muscle ups.

420# deadlift
335# squat
and i can still barely do 2 full ROM HSPU when completely fresh.
****es me off to no end.
my pressing ability is pretty lame too, but u dont usually have to scale a press.
