Run 5k for time

Time: 23:49 pr by 18 secs!
I stoked I finally broke the 24 minute mark on this god foresaken wod lol! Can u tell I despise I hate it lol. I basically made it into interval runs after a mike and a half because my lower back kept stiffening on me. I would walk fast and take 10 deep breaths while massaging it. They haul a$$ to make up for the time lost while walking. I did this about 5 or 6 times. Basically everytime my back got too stiff to keep running. Strategy worked out pretty well since I got the pr lol. Hope to keep shading time on this everytime it comes up. Did I mention I hate it!

Re: Ernie's workout log

Well done for battling through that one Ernie and breaking that 24 barrier. I find that the long distance running suffers when I get stronger and gets better when I lose weight, one of those really difficult things to get around. Whats the temperature in Miami right now, its nasty cold and rain here right now, perfect for running.

Re: Ernie's workout log

Thanks mate! I was feeling real good on it until the back starting acting up. I know what you mean about running it faster when u lose a bit of weight. That happens to my friend all the time. Doesn't happen to me as I tend to always stay in the same weight unless I get sick.

The temperature in Miami is hot and humid as always. Doesn't really get cold out here. I ran this at night with no sun because my girlfriend didn't want to wake early like usual just to go run lol. I like it better in the morning because there are less cars so less car exhaust I have inhale as I'm running. Legs feel pretty tired today. I'll try and hit alex's challenge later today.

Fran
21-15-9
thrusters 95lb
pullups
Time: 4:50 (18secs slower than pr!)
very disappointed in my performance on this! I have been looking forward to attacking Fran for a while! I was so excited while watching my girlfriend doing it first. She did a great job especially with the pullups. We got some bands for her to use and practice the Kip.

I guess I laches myslf before the wod by telling myself to get all the pullups. And it was my thruster speed and endurance hat was the downfall today. Got the fist round really fast but hit a brick wall on the 15 thusters! Broke them up 3 times! I knew I was going down in a hurry after them. I managed to make up good time th pullups but just not enough to even match my pr. Gonna go to the pool now and relax then punish myself with the parallettes and some burpees.

Re: Ernie's workout log

Well done Ernie, horrible workout that Fran and its always those '15' sets that kill the most. Not done it since February either. Good to hear your still getting your girlfriend to join in, was she dissapointed that you did not get a PR, mine shouts abuse at me if I slow down

Re: Ernie's workout log

Thanks mate. I'm disappointed as I was waiting for Fran to show up for a while to see if I could finally be in the 3 minute club. I just thought about what to do too much before the wod and psyched myself out. Nexttime I'm just gonna warm up grab the bar and go. No more thinkng.

Oh yes and my girlfriend screams at me too. She kept saying "why are your thrusters gettin slower and slower! Come in u aren't gonna beat your time at this pace! Pick it up!" but I just couldn't, was drained after the set of 15 thrusters.

Re: Ernie's workout log

HAHAHA popeye shirt. That is cool.

Ernie, you are going to have to scale up on fran with those times!!I don't think 115lbs would slow you down.
