Re: A Bears Tale

Should I do it with a vest tomorrow ? haha

I'd get strange looks (for a change) if running with the vest

It was hard enough without a vest! Got to give the vest a go next time!
!!Strange Looks!! I love getting strange looks, it just proves i am doing something they have not seen before. Imagine walking in the gym wearing a ladies dress and weighted vest, then launching into a vicious WOD , then see there faces!!!

Re: A Bears Tale

Well isn't 75k x 3 a PR on your push press too ? You've improved on those !

This WOD is always hell when we reach the push jerks at the end.

You've just squatted my PR for a double

I could not leave the gym today until i done something PR Richard, im feeling much better with the Push Press too, although i have a bad habit of trying to bang the bar up with my chest!!

I tried 140k with the squat but it just was not deep enough, very close, but close is not RXD. Having 16oz Steak tonight so i will be hitting tomorrows WOD with everything i have, pukie or no pukie i want to get my consolation point!! I see FRAN coming tomorrow or very soon!!

Re: A Bears Tale

Get that good meat hehe. I've been eating some garbage these last few days, thank good for the fasting that's cleaning me up a little.

I feel you on the squats, I did it at 140k once and just felt in my hips I wasn't at the right depth at all.

Man I hope it won't be fran, I don't want to cough for the whole evening after, but you might be right !

Re: A Bears Tale

Sunday 4th May 2008

FLAT BENCH DUMBELL PRESS

15K X 15 / 27.5K X 12 / 40K X 8 / 48K X 6 / 50k each (110lb) x 3

RING DIPS
15 reps warm up / 10k x 7 / 20k x 3
Next i done negative muscle ups as slow as i could to gain strength on the transition as it tends to give me elbow pain.

WOD. 50 BURPEES FOR TIME = 3.31.91 as RXD
That was like most simple looking WODs a real lung burner. The ceiling in my gym was just over a foot above my fingertips so proved perfect for the jump to touch. Had to disallow myself 1 rep for not quite touching. By the end my form suffered real bad.

Re: A Bears Tale

Crazy press power !

And that looks like a pretty fast time for the burpees, I'll make sure to do legit jumps tomorrow, as usual.

I have trouble with the negative part of the muscle-up, I still don't manage to get back in the false grip.

First time this year with the Dumbel Press Richard and it was mostly done as a test to see if i could get stronger on a movement i was not doing , and the result was yes, Crossfit works

Today on the negative MU's it was amazing that the more i did the easier it was to hold the false grip, i just tried to come down as slow as possible. Need to find something better to hang my rings on!!!

Good luck tomorrow, i think it will be another real lung burner for you like Fran, it was for me!!
