today's workout at rbvhs is called: mitey mouse, after jeff martin of brand x...that dude inspired my classes by doing this:
run 400 mtrs
40 kg cln and jerk x 30
pull ups x 30
run 400 mtrs
box jumps x 30
wall ball x 30
run 400 mtrs
snatch 30 kg x 30
ball slams x 30
run 400 mtrs
24 kg kb swing x 30
thrusters x 30


note: ball slames were with 16 or 20 lb d ball.
wall balls were with 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 lb dynamax balls
thrusters were with 25, 30, 35 lb db or 75 lb bb.

outcome: kids were gassed. they had to check in after each 400 mtr run...i allowed them to decide the wt. to use (still hard)

thougths: kick butt workout. great stuff. i used this same workout but 500 mtr row on concept 2 rower at my house with one of my athletes. (he now hates jeff but does not know him and doesn't want to meet him!!) thanks jeff

SST went to Alaska this weekend for the 3rd annual Speed & Power Development Camp at Service HS in Anchorage. 41 coaches & athletes attended the camp. Fight Gone Bad was the finale. Mike,
When does your school get out? At some point I want to spend some time down there and visit your PE class. I just want to see how you run your PE program. It might have to wait till I graduate, though.

DC PE finishes with Angie, Barbara, Chelsea, Tabata this, Terminator and modified Nancy Tu/Th over the last three weeks on conditioning days of our golf unit.

Modified Nancy was run 400m, 50 air squats and 50 sit-ups x 5 rounds. Best time was 16:16.

CrossFit fully implemented in fall of 2005 !!

today: june 3, rbvhs:
100 snatches with bar
run 400 mtrs, climb wall
100 cln and jerks with bar
run 400 mtrs, climb wall
100 kb snatches 16 kg ball
run 400 mtrs, climb wall
100 kb swings 16 kg ball
record time for grade

final exams started today: june 8, 05. each class had to demonstrate proficiency in the snatch, clean and jerk, back sqt, front sqt. proficiency is passing the lift according to usa weightlifting rules. after each student was individually tested by me, the class did the final exit for coach burgener's class: the secret service test. men used 16 kg kb, women used 12 kg kb....kb snatched for 10 minutes!! per 2 was one of my best classes ever!!! very proud teacher of this class!!!!
