I was working on the Celebrity Millenium mate just before it went out on the Alaskan cruise.

I don't think Anderson will get a fight for a while now. Chael has a bad cut so that fight won't be on the cards for a while now.

Update: Silva v Maia !!!

Haha, I remember longingly looking at that ship across the harbour....

Maia getting the shot is really reaching... He had a plodding fight with Miller and just because Maia beat Sonnen does not mean he is due for the title shot.....Rumours of a Couture-Silva fight were swirling around but I guess that isnt happening for a while

Exactly. He took no damage on his fight against Chael and jhad he won he would be the one fighting at Abu Dhabi for the title! It must be really hard for him right now...

I don't think Maia is unworthy as a title challenger at all. You can't just look at his last fight. You gotta look at Maia...

His MMA record stands at 12-1

In the UFC he is 6-1, with 5 straight victories all by submissions.

His only loss came by an abrupt KO in a fight that never saw him actually fight, and it came at the hands of one of the top MW on the planet.

On his last fight he took the time to test his stand up skills in the cage, not an easy feat after getting brutally knocked out.

And don't forget the BJJ credentials he brings into the cage with him. The guy is a BJJ world champion and ADDC champion. This is the guy that beat Gabriel Gonzaga 2 (or maybe 3) times in BJJ competition, not an easy feat at all considering Gabe is a BJJ world champ himself and weights A LOT more than Maia, and Maia finished him 2 times on the mat. He also beat Jacare on the mat before.

This is a match up between the best grappler in MMA against the best striker in MMA. It's a dream match up!!!

Silva by first round murder. I don't care who's standing across from him. If they have his attention they will get murdered. If they don't he'll toy with them for 5 rounds and throughly embarass them in the process.

Dude, I remember longingly looking ashore from that Ship. Do you realise how much fun it is in old town? There was a bar up there called marcy's I think and had a live bands on through the week, that place was tremendous. There was also a nice Irish bar not so far from there. Victoria BC has great people, great scenery, plenty to do, great people. I could live there!

I think Maia and Silva will be a good fight, i can see Silva keeping it standing and Maia wanting it to go to the ground, whatever happens I think this will be dynamite. I Really want to see this one on the canvas though

Re: UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi

Too bad the UFC let Hendo go... he would have filled the spot brilliantly
