Post Just Starting....

Well Technically I started Friday with Nasty Girls... and boy are they Nasty! My husband has been doing CF for a few months now (he is a firefighter and all the crazy guys in his department seem to be doing it) Ive been playing with the idea of starting CF but then dove in. I had knee surgery in 2005 and have not really been that active since due to the pain. And so far my knee isnt hurting, every other part of my body hurts but not the knee so its looking like I have to keep doing this just so my knee doesnt hurt . So anywho just thought that I would drop a line and introduce myself.

Re: Just Starting....

Thanks Guys!!! yeah it hurts all over , but by what Ive been reading thats a good thing. I just completed my first offical 3 days, this morning I did 'Nastygirls' because well I dont know how to do the WOD and my 'trainer' is working today, dagum fd. But I did it, almost, I couldnt finish the last set of Hang Power cleans, they are really hard to do when you cant lift the bar off the rack anymore. But I have been assured that I will be able to do all 3 rounds of that work out soon.

Re: Just Starting....

Welcome aboard! It's great to see that another husband and wife couple are practicing CF. You will accomplish Nasty Girls, just take it one step at a time. Grip issues will be of concern at the start since you are getting used to holding your bar and yourself for periods of time. It will all come around and just use common sense in some of the workouts.

http://www.crossfitkids.com/index.php/Workouts/.com (WFS) website has modified workouts for those that are fairly new to the workouts. Check them out and see if you can pick up some cues on the way.

Again, welcome aboard and have lots of fun.

Re: Just Starting....

Hi Amber,
You are only a couple of days ahead of me. I looked at http://forum.brandxmartialarts.com/v...a9cdcec3157228 (there's a link from the FAQ page on this site) to figure out how to scale down the WOD.

Its great that you and your husband can do it together.

Good luck,
Trevor

Re: Just Starting....

Welcome to CrossFit!

I recently started too, and I love it. It's also great to see some fellow Alabamians here...
