Garage Pull Up Bar

I want to make my own gym at my house. The only problem is that I can't do anything overhead inside my garage, but that's not a problem since I can go out into the driveway. The problem is my ceiling in my garage I think isn't high enough for a pull up bar. Does anyone know of a way to mount a pull-up bar on the outside of my garage like where you would put a basketball hoop on the top lip of the garage? Also maybe something that can be detached after I get done working out so it doesn't look weird on the front of my house.

Re: Garage Pull Up Bar

I was looking to be able to attach either a homemade pull-up bar or Rogue pull-up bar to the front of my garage where some people put basketball hoops.

Well, typically there is a big fat header running across the opening of the garage door you can bolt something into. But I see your concern about aesthetics - my wife would never let me bolt something to the front of the house. If you could attach a photo that would be helpful. If you've got a eave that hangs over the garage door (as I do), you could bolt something to the beams and then hang this system:

Post a photo and maybe people can be of more help - there are some quite inqenious folks on this board...

Re: Garage Pull Up Bar

How about this (wfs) or this (wfs)?

What does the roof look like above your garage door? Is this the end of the house with an A-frame so there is a triangle space above the garage? Or is there a flat roof line above the garage?

I have that exact same pullup bar and I hang it off my custom made wall mount rack. Works like a charm.
