Re: WOD Playlists

Heres some of my personal favorite bands for those who like metal/metalcore/hardcore

the song "The Air That I Breathe" by All That Remains is possibly the most motivating song I have ever heard. Listen to it. Workout to it. Look the lyrics up, get goosebumps, and love it.

just had to mention that song in particular heres some bands. I like most of the metal posted here already so do keep from rambling i wont repost bands

All That Remains
Avengend Sevenfold
Down
Evergreen Terrace (check out the song "Dogfight" and see if it gets your blood going)
Five Finger Death Punch
He is Legend
MAYLENE AND THE SONS OF DISASTER just pure southern metalcore/metal here. one of my favorite bands.
Pantera (suprised they havent been mentioned)
The Showdown (the album Backbreaker is pretty much epic)
Swamp Witch

but im forcing you all to go listen to and if you can figure out the lyrics look them up to The Air that I Breathe by All that Remains!
so yeah, go do it.

Re: WOD Playlists

Seven pages and no Guns N Roses? What playlist is complete without Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City? Or is it there and I just missed it?

80s metal in general makes great workout music for the same reasons it made great arena rock: BIG and LOUD.

Re: WOD Playlists

Boy, I'm going to have to spend some time on youtube checking some of these songs out - I can see a fair few of you like the type of stuff I like.

My list includes:

Anberlin - Paperthin Hymn (mostly for the intro)
Anberlin - Godspeed
Andrew W.K - Party Hard
Benni Benassi v Public Enemy - Bring the Noise (Pump-kin Remix)
Blindside - Sleepwalking
Blindside - Pitiful
Blur - Song 2
Chevelle - Brainiac
Chevelle - I Get It
Classic Crime - The Fight
Cold - Just Got Wicked
Crystal Method - Born Too Slow
Dead Poetic - New Medicines
Dead Poetic - Cannibal v Cunning
Dead Poetic - Narcotic
Disturbed - Deify
Disturbed - Shout 2000
Disturbed - Haunted
DJ Morgoth - Never Gonna Give Your Teen Spirit Up (Nivana v Rick Astley)
Fort Minor - Remember the Name
Friday Night Lights - Ivory Christian's Half-time Speech
Millencolin - Kemp
Metallica - I Disappear
Motorhead - The Game
MSTRKRFT - Bounce
Nine Inch Nails - Just Like You Imagined
Orgy - Blue Monday
POD - Say Hello (to the badguy)
POD - Lights Out
Project 86 - Evil (A chorus of resistance)
RA - Rectifier
Refused - New Noise
Run DMC - It's Like That
Saul Williams - List of Demands (Reparations)
Secret and Whisper - XOXOXO
Sevendust - Enemy
Soil - Black Betty
Soil - Pride
Soil - Breaking Me Down
Static-X - The Only
Techn9ne - The Beast
Three Days Grace - Riot
Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become
Tyler Bates - Fever Dream

Ya, it's a slightly eclectic collection. I find that I prefer to hear/understand the lyrics of songs because some of the ones on this list that aren't "hard rock" still have some phrase/verse that really motivate during lifts. (for example: Classic Crime's chorus "One day it all comes down to this... you can sink or swim, you can hit or miss...")

And don't look at me funny about the Nirvana v Rick Astley song... it works. Worth checking out on youtube.

Secret and Whisper's entry on this list is phenomenal. I love the drum work at around 50 seconds when the rest of the music kinda lulls.

I'm going to have to dig through my files and add in some of your suggestions again - I've had to re-do my workout playlist so many times to count and constantly lose the "best" version.

Burn it to the Ground plays about 3 or 4 times on my workout playlists.

This is a awesome thread. Thanks for the ideas. For an old guy who still has a tube radio this is great.
