Re: Zombie War Preparation

I dunno, they're crafty sometimes. You never know these days.

The problem isn't the zombies anymore. It's if any of the weird mutations that go along with the zombies (like in Left 4 Dead) happens.

Re: Zombie War Preparation

I'm currently reading "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" in preparation. The zombie take on it has made reading that book tolerable for me. Plus It has further increased my appreciation for women who have "skills with a blade". Maybe Giada...or Red Sonja.

Re: Zombie War Preparation

Jason, the problem with sprinters is that they swarm much more quickly than shamblers. One Zombie is not a problem for a competent individual with a makeshift weapon - a dozen are. Sprinters can't be handled one at a time , you have to deal with them all at once. Since the ammunition in most automatic weapons is too light to drop zombies with anything but a head shot, rate of fire, especially the need to reload, becomes a huge problem. Remember, all it takes is a bite.

Slow is still dangerous, but it can be handled because humans have an advantage if they operate in a prepared unit. Just make sure you don't get cornered by biting off more than you can chew. In contrast, all the cases of fast Zombies that I know of have ended in a quarantine enforced by large bodies of water or strategic bombing - a very bad thing for the people within the infection zone.

Re: Zombie War Preparation

This is one occasion where LSD is better... The LSD zombies, although easy one on one, the horde is where they get you. Not only that, immensely more terrifying. In the words of Simon Pegg:

"speed simplifies the zombie, clarifying the threat and reducing any response to an emotional reflex. It's the difference between someone shouting "Boo!" and hearing the sound of the floorboards creaking in an upstairs room: a quick thrill at the expense of a more profound sense of dread."

Hey man, all I'm saying is that I've seen the slow ones make an effective horde to mob somebody.

Although with the slow ones it's usually when they break into your hiding spot and then they all swarm in slowly.
