How do you do an L-sit. Do you just hang from a pull-up bar and exted your legs out in front of you?

Check out this link for clarity on gymnastic movements. The L-sit is pictured here: http://www.american-gymnast.com/tt/p...guide_beg.html

What you described is not an L-sit. That is just a hanging L, which isnt a bad thing to practice to prepare you for L-pullups.
