Now I don't normally read Woman's World magazine (pics ain't bad tho), but my wife's copy caught my eye. Front cover said something about Macedamia nut oil as being body friendly.
So I did a search: http://www.i-75.com/MissTiny/macoil.htm
From our friends in Australia, and even lower in monounsaturated fats.
I hadn't seen it mentioned here so I thought I'd bring it up.
Checked a couple local places for it yesterday, but no luck yet.

Check your "health food" store. Macadamia nut oil has a high smoking temperature, tastes great, has great wetting properties so a little bit goes a long way in frying or sauteing, and is a richer monounsaturate than olive oil.

The taste of Macadamia Nut oil is nothing short of superb. As Coach said, the oil has a higher smoking point and is higher in monounsaturates than olive oil - it's quite the healthy fat.

I went looking in the health food stores yesterday. All said they were out. Looks like, as usual, anything good comes along, I'm the last to hear about it.
One place said he'll have more in a couple days.
And yes, I foobed my first post. S/B "more" monounsats.
Can't wait to try it. I am getting a lttle bored with olive oil. Thanks.

Amazon.com has mac oil in their gourmet section. Or you can go to macoil.com. "The Hampton's Diet" is driving macademia oil sales at the moment.

One other resource may be your local "Low Carb" store. When the wife and I were considering starting a store, one item we were told was indespensible was mac oil. Be prepared for "sticker shock" though as it tends to be pricey!

Thanks Ron and Shafer, of course everything popular is expected to be expensive. That's yet another thing I like about Crossfit. It's not.

It's absurd how little the Glassmans (and other Crossfit coaches) ask, considering the wealth of knowledge they share with us. I would pay 100x what they are asking (only 25 bucks a year for the journal, and a free website).
