Olaf Tufte's training - would like to draw your attention to
For those who don't know, Tufte is the olympic champion in rowing in the men's singles in 2004 and 2008. I was browsing his website and found some pictures I (being a rower and crossfitter) thought were pretty cool, and thought you guys would too. This guy obviously encorporates what we'd call functional movements into his training!

Good idea! I bet with a bit of training in the all of the movements he would have a good shot at the games. I've read that his max back squat is 185kg (407lbs), and there's a video on youtube of him deadlifting 190x8! Only disadvantage might be his height, although at 6'3" he's not as tall as a lot of rowers.

Cool. I especially like the tan lines in #3. Reminds me of my cycling days. (Except of course I couldn't do a pull up then.)

Ha the 'All-in-one tan line'...picked one of those up rowing this year as well.
Read on article on his training, he's got a pretty beastly 2k time, 5:46, and apparently his coach's main problem is getting him to rest. |
