CF with Wrist Fusion...
I'm on my third week of CF and totally love it, I don't go to a CF gym. I CF with my co-worker daily, he goes to an affiliate on the weekends. I have to substitute a lot of exercises due to my wrist being fused. The wrist still gives me pain but i am willing to work through that; however i cannot do a lot of the exercises that are posted for WOD. Does anyone know what i can substitute for pull-ups, handstand push-ups, regular push-ups and dips?

Don't work through pain. That's a no-no.
Talk to your doc about what he did. Depending on what was fused it's possible that you may be able to get more mobility out of it if you do proper stretching and strengthening and whatnot. From there you may be able to work back into more exercises. |

I wonder if you could do pushups (if it doesn't hurt, and it sounds like it might) on your knuckles to get out of having to bend your wrist?

Thanks. The pain will never go away but its not bad, usually comes after the work out. My wrist is totally fused, so i'll never be able to bend it. I will eventually be able to do the push ups on my my knuckle, i hope; thanks karin, i really do miss push ups

It may be a good idea to consider working more with KBs and DBs because they're a bit more friendly with neutral wrists for most movements.
And obviously, you know what concessions you need to make with pushups to do them without pain. Avoid pain as much as possible... you don't want it to degenerate anymore than it already is. |
