pullup bar grip help...
We just built our own set of pullup bars for our garage gym. they came out awesome (3 bars different heights, everyone can go at the same time!). the problem i am having is finding the idea taping situation. the tall bar is 1" diameter the other two are 3/4". we tried athletic tape on the big bar and it ended up being sticky... then we went to baseball grip tape. that doesnt leave glue on your hands but the guys dont seem to like it.. all of the bars are clean and spray painted flat to prevent rusting.
does anyone have any suggestions because my hands are hurtin from the new naked bar! ~thanks, danielle http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/e...0703091217.jpg |

Re: pullup bar grip help...
You might want to give bicycle handlebar tape a try.
![]() Personally, I hate the idea of tape on the bar as you run into problems with gluey stickiness but I ride and have never had a problem with my handlebars. |

Re: pullup bar grip help...
I have tried many different wraps. None of them have worked out as well as the plain bar with chalk on your hands.
All versions of wrapping the I tried have ended up either sticky or greasy over time. Anything with too much grip ends up causing rips. |
