Re: Nike Metcon

Mine arrived today too, and I'm very impressed with the comfort and build quality, they seem like very well designed shoes for all kinds of crossfit workouts too

Re: Nike Metcon

I went and picked mine up at the border after work last night. I was scheduled to have a session so did a later night one.

Did some OHS, thrusters and then some aerobic work with box jump overs and more OHS.

They felt really good. And yes they feel much more high end than Nanos.

FYI, that grey color won't be out for at least 4 months I believe.

Re: Nike Metcon

I'm not really a shoe person, but is this a normal strategy in the shoe world? Release laughably small amounts of 4 colorways, sell out instantly, have people get annoyed they can't have this shoe, then force them to wait months for new colorways?

This works and is a good strategy?

I'll take $59 Nano 4.0s thanks. 50% off coupon was out yesterday on reebok.com: http://slickdeals.net/f/7676836-50-o...de-50-dead?v=1 (wfs)

Yeah, I have to agree with this.

I don't care much about my shoes either, and have never owned a pair of Nano's. But all the hype about this Nike Metcon got me thinking about getting a "real" Crossfit shoe. But then, with Nike's "marketing" of this shoe (i.e. terrible mis-judgement of demand), I'm thinking about getting a pair of Nano's, rather than wait for these to finally show-up on the market. I'm not going to buy a scalped pair of Nike's for $250 on eBay, and I'm not going to sit, staring a my computer screen while they countdown until the Nike store starts selling them online again.

So, for me, I think Nike helped Reebok gain a customer.

I'm no expert on marketing or sales strategy, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Nike knows exactly what they are doing and I think they've created more hype around the Metcon than any Reebok CF shoe release.

Agreed. That, and making a much better shoe imo
