"300" workout times

Need some help! Have been doing STREND for 1 yr and prefer Cross-Fit work outs. I am doing the standard "300" work out and need to get a idea of how I am doing. I am 50 y.o. and usually complete it in 20 min flat. My friends who do it with me have no idea of the times! thanx! gene

Re: "300" workout times

300 isn't a CF workout so you'll probably have to look somewhere else for times on it. I think I remember being in the 17-18 minute range when I first did it about 3 years ago before I really starting CFing, but I could be wrong.

Re: "300" workout times

Though its done for time not all of the workout is practical or functional. Its kinda like a body building form of a chipper, well actually it is a chipper.

I think its not considered a crossfit exercise due to gym jones having manufactured it?

Haha, it's a Mark Twight/Gym Jones creation. After the nasty parting of ways between him and Crossfit, I don't think you will see any mention of it on here. But yes, it is very similar, and I am sure many on here have tried it (I keep meaning to give it a run, but it would be difficult at my gym).

On his website (http://www.gymjones.com/knowledge.php?id=35) (safe) Mark mentions that one of the actors, Andrew Pleavin, finished in around 18 minutes after 5 weeks of training, so that's a benchmark of sorts.

50x Floor Wiper @ 135# (one-count) +
50x KB Clean and Press @ 36# (KB must touch floor between reps) +

Please point out the unfunctional, bodybuilding exercises.

Re: "300" workout times

I have never seen a progression in sit ups or core function from floor wipers. But that could just be me they did have a profound effect in making my abs more defined and obliques more refined.

Its an opinion statement not a fact.

Re: "300" workout times

I've done the workout before, long time ago. 18 mins is a good benchmark.

Gym Jones is like 30mins from my house. The guy sure is a cocky sob, and wont even consider seeing you unless you have hundreds of dollars to go to his several day seminar. And if you cant hack it, they keep your money. But if you do make it it's thousands of dollars just for a membership.

Re: "300" workout times

Sub 15 minutes would be a solid time, and much faster is possible.

Re: "300" workout times

At my gym we did 300, with 45# KB and "Games" style push-ups, hands off the ground at the bottom.
16:18 RX'd.
PUs are a weak point of mine, and took the longest. 45# is also on the heavy side for me overhead.
I'm pretty sure we had some people finish in the 13s and 14s.

Floor wipers involve a floor press lockout and leg raises- what's not to love?
