500m Row

I've been rather stressed lately, and wasn't feeling up to my regular workout, so I just did a 500m row for an active rest day. I PR'd, which was nice, I guess.

Re: 500m Row

Heh, I usually let the expletives fly after an all out 500m. Never would have thought that such a short distance/time could be so brutal. Great job!

Re: 500m Row

That was the best *****ing ending to a 500m sprint I've ever seen, hahaha.

Nice PR though... 1:30, yikes. I'm just baaaarely out of the 1:45 zone right now.

Have you tried slowing your stroke rate or catching a little further up? Seems like your spm must have been in the mid to high 30s.

Fast stroke rate or not, that's some solid rowing. Nice job

Re: 500m Row

Great work Patrick. You can drop under 1:30 for sure if you clean up your stroke a little. Impressive stuff at your bodyweight.

Not quite. 1:30.1, which was the reason for the "Ahhh, dammit!" I've been wanting that sub-1:30 for so long. So close!

Yes, I'll definitely get it next time. I hadn't rowed in a while, so my technique was pretty flawed. Too strong of a push, wasting energy (see my toes rising against the straps and the slow movement of the C2); not always hitting full leg extension; not coming up far enough at the bottom; etc. The inefficiency made it all the more brutal! Ha.

Re: 500m Row

I'd like to see the order of your stroke polished up a little. Knees=>hips=>arms=>arms=>hips=>knees.
