Kidney stones and lemonade

I've run into a sort of nutritional barrier and I'm not sure how best to start working on it. I have kidney stone problems due to low citric acid, and my doctor's advice is to drink lots of lemonade. I know there could be worse medicines out there, but most lemonades have a LOT of sugar! I'm looking for things that are:

-High in citric acid
-Low in sugar
-Tasty
-Easy to make (If not pre-made)
-Not ridiculously expensive.

Also, any other advice on reducing my stone risk would be appreciated. My ultimate goal is to change my diet in a way that will dissolve all my remaining stones, prevent the formation of new ones, and let me pass a flight physical (meaning CAT scan shows no stones). Any ideas are welcome!

Re: Kidney stones and lemonade

Make your own lemonade...
get that real-lemon stuff in the bottle...there is a recipe for lemonade on the bottle...but it's kinda hard to screw up (lemon juice, water, sugar)...
use splenda or stevia if you don't want the carbs but need it sweet. Or just go without/less sugar. Squeeze some lemon/lime into all your water...
Eat tonnes of citrus...lemons and limes too if you can stand them.
Other than that, perhaps you could find pure citric-acid (as a 'food-additive') and just throw some into your water.
Good luck with the stones!

I'm a little suprised that LOW citric acid would be a problem for anyone. It's in just about everything. But like the above poster stated, just add lemon/lime to everything. Lots of different veggies and fruits have appreciable amounts if eaten raw.

Does apple cider vinegar have citric acid? What about grapefruit? I'm not sure; just asking about possible alternatives.

vinegar is acetic acid. Grapefruit has citric acid.
