Great article, but was I the only one that found this sentence a little funny?

"...Mike Banyo is a 72-year-old masters lifter who has used Mike's principles to overcome two knee replacements and still be able to bench press 300 pounds..."

Mike - awesome stuff!

Ken - there's a lot of leg drive in the bench press.

hey ken, first off it should be mike vanyo. mike has a daughter lauri vanyo that is a doc at loma linda. you might know of her. mike is 72 yrs old, he is a former marine and when i got out of the corps he became my mentor at fallbrook h.s., fallbrook, ca. mike now at 72 almost 73 benched press on his bd 300 for the last 55 yrs or so. mike did do olympic lifting in the early 90's when the american weightlifting assoc. run by bob hise 2 was around. we all trained together then and had some great fun. mike recently had 2 partial knee replacements and is training hard. he however, now does no olympic weightliftiing, just personal body building/training. nothing fancy and he certainly does not need to use anyone's principle's other than what has made this man a true champion.

Just wanted to add that I'm not trying to put anyone down. I think that reading that article at 2 am plus the author's sentence structure made the sentence come across a little "funny." If I can obtain even a partial measure of Mike Vanyo's fitness at his age I will be more than thrilled.

Coach B: Thank you for all the information and teaching both here and on your site. I look forward to attending a cert in the near future.

I second Jay's thoughts COach B. I too hope to come train at your garage some day.

Once again, it was an honor to meet you in SD last weekend at COach Rip's cert!
