dumbbell front squat, clean, rack position: weights on the shoulders or not?

Should the dumbbells be allowed to rest on the shoulder caps or should the weight be supported entirely by the wrists?

I've been watching a few of the CF exercise videos for dumbbell exercises and it looks like the upper arms and forearms are fairly vertical. It's not clear to me whether or not the dumbbell comes in contact with the shoulder at the top of the movement.

Do we not want to mimic a barbell rack positions where our elbows are up, upper arms are parallel to the floor and the weight is resting against our chest and shoulders?

Re: dumbbell front squat, clean, rack position: weights on the shoulders or not?

I just did a metcon with DB power clean, front squat and push press last night using 50% BW DB's (combined of course). I found I had to rest them on my shoulders or my wrists would fatigue too much. The problem I encountered is I bruised up my shoulders a bit from the contact of the DB's (from the power cleans). It's also a lot easier to DB squat with them resting on your shoulders versus trying to hold them up.

its personal preferance, i dont like resting in the rack position and i rarely let the dumbbels come in contact with my shoulders.
but whatever feels good to you
