Starting Crossfit with an injury?
Hey all, I'm new to the forum. I have read the rules but can't find anything about this.
I've had patellar tendonitis in my right knee since March 2011. It flares up doing impact and pressure activities (lunges, squats, running, jumping, skipping etc) and is known as runner's knee or jumper's knee. Before the injury I'd been doing BMF (British Military Fitness - outdoor training) and while it got my VO2 max up it only served to strengthen my quads and do nothing for my hams, glutes and calves, causing the injury during an adventure 10k... good times! ![]() Anyway, I've since been strengthening the muscle imbalances / correcting the biomechanics of my knee and am looking to try CrossFit in the next few weeks or so. Do you think I would be able to keep up, bearing in mind I'm still very cautious of my knee? It's getting better but I don't want to re-injure it! Any advice much appreciated! ![]() |
