Hello there

Having read the omega zone book, one suggestion is that 1 teaspoon of fish oil should be taken per day this converted to milligrams is 5000m/g this would result in taking 5 fish oil capsules per day from an average bottle of fish oil capsules from Holland and Barret. However the recommended dose on the bottle is 1 per day compared to Barry Sears 5 caps per day. I am slightly confused as there must be a reason to why it say on the bottle only one per day.
Also, are there any athletes here thats have had any good results from the omega fish oils.

The general rec is to take 5-10g per day. That works out to 5-10 pills or 1-2 teaspoons. In my opinion the directions on the bottle are way too low.

I personally take 15g (1 Tbsp) per day. It helps my recovery and I feel better overall (better sleep, better joints, better energy). I consider fish oils essential.

I take 2 Tbsp. of Carlson's fish oil 3 times a day. Recovery seems good and joint ache seems minimized. I haven't had any blood drawn to see effects on various values. Feel great overall though. My current block ratios per meal are:

5 Protein
1 Carb
16 Fat

I'm lucky to squeeze in 4 meals. 3 is about the norm with a post wod shake of whey, BCAA's, creatine, and Vit. C.
