Need a quality inexpensive Kettlebell.
Hello, I am looking to buy a quality inexpensive kettlebell. I don't have enough money to buy a Dragon Door kettlebell. I want something along the lines of a Dragon Door kettlebell, but isn't so damn expensive. Anyone know any good brands?

Based on feedback that I've read, when I purchase some kettlebells I'll probably go with The Kettlebell King (WFS)

Re: Need a quality inexpensive Kettlebell.
I admit that kettlebells are pretty damn cool, but the kettlebell is one of the worst fitness items in terms of value to cost, especially when you consider how easily its function can be replicated for a fraction of the price. If money is tight, skip the kettlebell. Just buy or make a dumbbell handle and then find some weights on craigslist or use the ones you already have (or buy them at walmart, which will still save you a lot compared to a KB). This will be A LOT cheaper, it will provide you with an easily scalable tool, and it will let you do 99% of all KB movements.
Another option are the kettle grips from Iron Woody WFS. A lot cheaper than a KB and scalable. |

Re: Need a quality inexpensive Kettlebell.
Bottom line is that kettlebells are expensive, but they are also cool. You can through them around and they just look and feel nice. But whether that justifies the high cost depends on individual desires and circumstances. You can perform the push up type movements with dumbbells, fyi.

Re: Need a quality inexpensive Kettlebell.
Does anyone have a measurement of the circumference of the handle on the 16 kg Troy KB from the KB King? I have a 35 lb KB from Sports Authority w/ a 5 inch circum, which after 30 minutes gets to be a little tough to maintain a grip!
Thanks. |
