Paleo or zone to Start

Hi Everyone

I am 48 and I am 6"2 and 266 pounds and need to be around 200 pounds. I have brought two zone books and read issuse 21. Should I go straight into the zone or start with the paleo diet?

In my personal opinion, improve the quality of your food first. Follow the CF prescription. Eat meat, vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, no sugar. See how that goes for a while. If you're dedicated, work into the Zone later.

In my opinion, improve quality (paleo) first.

I agree w/the above posts. For most people who are new to a healthy lifestyle, measuring and weighing can be very tedious and overwhelming.

So, first start w/quality, then begin add quantity as well. So eat via the paleo guidelines first. Once you've got that down, then start adjusting that same food into your proper zone blocks to ensure that you're getting the right amount.

Clean up the food first, then learn how to eat the proper portions.
