Re: Metcon cancels effect of Heavy Day??

Read all you want from as many experts as you wish. The research and results from your own lab are the ones that should matter the most. If your people are getting stronger and faster while doing the workouts you schedule... then it works.

Next month there will be a study that says doing sprint workouts following strength work will make you stronger. Who gives a ****. Your gym and your results are what matters. Every expert out there has three other experts with just as much experience who have opposing views.

Every strength coach has experiences that shape their views, they are all different because they have all worked with different athletes and experimented either intuitively or from what they have learned from being coached themselves.

I read alot of stuff just like you do, I program what I feel like works based on MY experiences, not Westside Barbell, or Elite Fts, or Starting strength. I use elements from all of those guys programs, just like they use elements from programs that they have tried to brand their "philosophies".

3 min is nothing unless, like Mason said, you are a specialist like a big fat (not used disparagingly) strong as power lifter.

15 min super intense, well...

thing is, though, in my personal experience, without a good deal of accessory work, you (or at least I) won't get much stronger.

So you lifted and then you did a little conditioning/assistance work after? Yeah, that's what you should be doing.

I do "pump work" after lifting now whether its dynamic stretching, bodybuilding, or just speed work. I find it helps facilitate recovery faster for me, and enhances flexibility!
