Re: Wooden Dowels

Mike,

I am shocked that Lowes or Home Depot didn't have wooden dowels. They should be in the closet shelving/rack aisle. If not try calling your local True Value hardware store. They may be more expensive, but you will get much better service! Another choice would be you local craft store (AC Moore, etc.). Believe it or not, they have dowels of all sizes usually a ton of 1/8" and 1/4" and then a few 1" diameter dowels.

Good luck.

Re: Wooden Dowels

Dowels are usually in the interior trim section. PVC is much cheaper though.

Re: Wooden Dowels

thanks guys!!!! I TRULY appreciate your responses. Funny, both Lowe's and Home Depot gave me some pretty crappy service - I guess they're not looking for that "E" when they train the majority of their personell.

Re: Wooden Dowels

Yeah, careful with the Home Depot and Lowes staff. Don't ask someone who is just wandering around. Look for someone who is actually doing something. Most of 'em are trained monkeys.

It's actually a good marketing scheme. They send you to opposite ends of the store (depending on who you ask), forcing you to walk by all of their products every time you ask for advice. Then, of course, you have to walk all the way BACK to the other end of the store to find what you need.
