Looking For A Good Rope For Double Unders

In the twenty dollar range or less.

I've seen the Buddy Lee Aero series but my budget is a little less.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
John

Just go to any sporting goods store and look for a speed rope. You can get a decent one for about $10-15. They may even let you try them out in the store. Any speed rope will be fine for double unders.

I prefer the pvc cord with the skinny plastic handles, I got a bunch for like $5.99 each at K-Mart or was it Target?

Thanks guys. I was thinking that the good ones had the swivel handles but I rarely see those at the sporting good store.

I'll give one of their speed ropes a try.

Re: Looking For A Good Rope For Double Unders

Just FYI, I was using the speed rope listed above. It caught on my foot and yanked the plastic handle out of my hand, and broke when it hit the concrete. I guess I can't blame them except it would be nice if those handles were metal (there are several composites that are as light if not lighter than the plastic used, but that would likely drive up the price (which I'd be willing to pay for)).

Did you contact the manufacturer? Often times you can get a replacement when incidents like that occur. Any decent business will stand behind their product...

Well, I got a reply.. $2.50 for a replacement handle! I guess it's considered "normal" wear and tear. Maybe I'll rig up a metal replacement.

+1 /\ I have a couple of these and they work great, though they do sting a bit when you hit yourself with the rope. I've not had any breakage issues in 2+ years. Matt will also custom cut the rope length for you if needed.
