"Coming soon: Climbing & Gymnastics: A Historical Association.

A non-academic, rambling discussion of gymnastics and gymnastic climbing activities since the 16th century and , more recently, how gymnastics has been used by several generations of rock climbers - from the 1880s to the 1960s - to improve their climbing skills and strengths. You should have a high-speed internet connection for this section, since it contains many illustrations: historical photos, engravings, and drawings. Check this website periodically."

Climbing and Gymnastics . . . A Historical Association
by John Gill

This is a wonderful "must read" for the CrossFit Community.

For those who may have missed this discussion last year, take the time to also read his article Gymnastics . . . My Eyes are Opened
