No I'm not going to Scott. I'm away at work too much, I would need a video camera that I don't have. Plus, it's just not something that I'm interested in. I'm really looking forward to watching you make it to Cali!

Re: Jesse Emers GPP Log

3 Rounds, 1 minute stations, no rest:
Right arm Russian swings (55lb)
Burpees
Left arm Russian swings (55lb)
Inverted burpees (no wall assist)
= 223 reps

*Back on the reservation. This one got my grip going.

Re: Jesse Emers GPP Log

Tabata Mashup, 24 rounds, alternating each round of:
Double KB Cleans (2x55lb)
Double KB Push Jerks (2x55lb)
Pullups
= 140 reps

*That was awful. Some of it had to do with altitude adaptation, most had to do with heavy tabatas. Pull-up numbers are really low here because they are semi strict with a leg pump kip only.

Re: Jesse Emers GPP Log

21-15-9 reps for time:
Double KB Thrusters (2x55lb)
Clapping Push-ups
= 5:38

Arm bar stretches

*That was another purely evil workout. Second round of thrusters broken into 3 sets, others unbroken. The clapping push-ups were impossible, I couldn't chain together more than 5 in a row from the start. Altitude is a factor but I should be mostly adapted by now.

Five rounds for time of:
Bear crawl 100 feet
Standing broad-jump, 100 feet

Do three Burpees after every five broad-jumps.
= 11:09pr (13:40)
For the jerk PR. That's a lot of weight to be holding overhead. Did you milk it and just hold it there strongman style?

I'm always confused by inverted burpees in a metcon. When I've done them in the past, I always wondered why I'm doing them for time. They take time, but don't demand a lot metabolically. On the bright side, they get me thinking of handstand forward rolls, which usually motivates me to work more gymnastics skills into my workouts, which is always a good thing.

Today's thruster, clapping pushup workout looked grim. Talk about a shoulder smoker. I think I'd bloody my nose by the second set of pushups.

This is a good point about inverted burpees Pat. They do take time, but they DO demand a lot metabolically (at least for me). I do the deck squat strict and fast with no backwards roll for a kip up. When I do these in workouts I actually need to pace myself slower so I don't burn out. The good thing about not using a wall for the handstand assist, I can strive to hold the handstands for time, which helps me slow down the reps and also helps with the handstands

Re: Jesse Emers GPP Log

I finally see the amount of kb work! Some evil stuff in here Jesse, way to go. Do you feel it's complimenting the barbell movements well?

I would not bother if I had to video it, too much over-critique from people on there loungers in the video section.

Im doing everything I can to get there, weekly putting myself to total exhaustion, even extra burpees in case that awful 7 minute workout pops up again.

I think its getting my hips and shoulders stronger Rich. In that respect it is complimenting the barbell stuff. I recently got a sub 7 D.T. (over 2 min pr from last time), 300lb power clean and 300lb push jerk pr's. My technique is obviously suffering from lack of barbell, but this is showing good carry over when I get into proper gyms.

I can't say I would be surprised if we saw that burpee workout again Scott, although I would be disappointed.

Re: Jesse Emers GPP Log

AMRAP 12 Minutes:
5 Ab Wheels (knees)
10 Double Russian KB Swings (2x55lb)
25 Double Unders
= 7 + 15

Arm bar stretches

*Flew all last night till past dawn. I got 4 hours of broken sleep. Feel crappy, just needed to get the work in.

Those double swings are heavy though
