Griff's Log

Please offer ALL your constructive critism here.

M/29/170lbs.

Okay here goes. I have never been an on-line kind of guy but I guess now is the time to start. I have been completing the WOD, albeit scaled to some degree, since the middle of March 2008. I have kept a log in a notebook and its okay. I hope that by posting my log online I will have more determination to improve my performance.

My workouts are okay, and getting better. My diet is average at best and goes in waves. Good one week, not so good the next. Maybe one day I will begin logging my nutrition on here as well....but I'm not holding my breath.

Enough BS, here goes.

March 2-

I'm not comfortable with Hang Power Cleans yet so I distributed those 12 reps among the other 3 exercises and then had to scale the weight down a bit.

Completed
5 Rounds of:

135lbs. Deadlift 18 Reps
95lbs. Front Squats 14 Reps
95lbs. Push Jerk 10 Reps.

Time 31.32

March 3.

Continuous Running clock of pull-ups.

15 Rounds. Possibly could have reached 16 rounds but my bleeding palms made me stop.

Let me know what you think

Re: Griff's Log

Well not a good start after beginning a log but I have to keep honest so I can see improvement.

After a night of 4th of July parties I arrived at work unable to complete even the first 1/3 of the WOD. Fran...you win. I found myself underneath the weight and stuck on rep number 30 of the thrusters. No other comments on that.

I did however work on the jump rope and competency with double unders.
One day at a time.

I've started looking at the Zone Diet and am going to give that a try.

Re: Griff's Log

March 6, no workout today, I missed. Much to my surprise however I see an extra 'rest day' posted. This means I won't fall to far behind.

Re: Griff's Log

July 7, 2008

These Olympic lifts....I'm just not comfortable doing them. I've never had instruction so I modified this into two seperate moves. I fully understand the fact that I'm not receiving the full benefit of a Squat Clean and Jerk, but neither do I want to injure myself. I do plan, in the very near future, to take a few personal lifting lessons to educate myself on Olympic lift basics.

Here is my scaled down workout

145 lbs. Front Squat 30 Reps.

135 lbs. Push Press. 30 Reps.

I added 300 jump ropes just for fun.

I am certainly open to suggestions on another way to scale this workout. Let me know what you think.

Angie

This is the first time for Angie....

The work was definitely difficult. I hope to improve on the pull-ups next round.

Re: Griff's Log

I missed the July 9 workout, but will complete something in its place on July 11. Damn that means 4 days of workouts.

July 10, completed the 10k indoors on a treadmill. It is about 98 degrees here in Fort Worth.

Time 55.31
1% grade.

Re: Griff's Log

July 11.

No workout. This is a prescribed Rest Day so I took advantage of it. So yes I lied, I did not make up the July 9 workout. Looking foward to tomorrow.
