I've noticed that many of the affilliates have started posting their own Workout of the Day. I am curious about people's experiences switching from the Crossfit Headquarter workouts to some of the affilliates. Has anyone noticed any patterns with different affilliates emphasizing certain aspects of fitness or athleticism in different proportions? Which affilliate has the toughest WODS?

personally I would have guessed "people's experiences switching from the Crossfit Headquarter workouts to some of the affilliates" catagory....but I guess "Workout of the Day" is close enough.

Every franchise probably has different WODs depending on their schedule (are they 5 on, 2 off?), equipment available, class formats, client needs, etc.....some of the Painstorms look fun for a Sat afternoon in the park. Try new things....don't try and look too much into which is better, stick with the main WOD and play with others if you want...there is an old saying, the best workout is the one you are not doing.

"there is an old saying, the best workout is the one you are not doing."

Amen to that.

Brand X trainers pick from the WOD, make up their own or use another's trainers workouts. Sometimes there are "Jeff RX'd" workouts done by all the classes on the same day. Sometimes we do WOD or scaled versions.

If I am at home, I pick a WOD or BX workout from the list of ones that got away or make up my own (I'm certified). Usually dicated by equipment available and time of day.

I am happy with results, and switch focus based on scaling rather than on a given pattern of WOD's at hand.

ummm... short answer, I rarely do the WOD as prescribed on the front page and still have good results.
