Nuts, Avacados, etc. Anything high in good fats fats should work. You are looking for calorie dense foods correct?

Healthy foods tend to be pricey.
High fat grassfed meat or the fatty part of wild game. Best. Food. Ever.

But because they're calorie dense, you don't need to eat as much.

Re: highest calorie health foods?

not sure if this is a 'health' food, but the other day at the store I got a bag of dried coconut (shredded, unsweetened) for less than $2. I thought 'whoa! cheap, high fat food I never thought of!'

Also you can get avocados for a dollar, i think they have about 300 calories each.

what about almonds, they are cheaper than macadamias.

If you go to a place like Sams Club or similar, you can usually get a big bag of nuts cheap. i think I paid $10 one time for 3lbs of walnuts, not sure exactly though.

Ground beef, get the fatty stuff and its cheap!

Yes, of course because they are calorie dense, you need less.... Don't forget that a pound of nuts is a whopping 3000 calories or more, not a bad deal even for the expensive ones.

I know a lot of people on here advocate against peanuts, but I use this peanut butter called Naturally More. It is an all natural blend of peanuts and flax seed. It tastes great and provides a good bit of Omega 3's, it is very high in fiber and protein. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted.

you have GOT to be kidding. Everybody knows if you eat a peanut you WILL get fat and/or die!

kidding. I eat peanut butter too sometimes (blasphemy i know) but it is just so darn cheap compared to other nut butters. Only 1.69 a jar at trader joes.

maybe i will give it up soon.. we'll see.
