Soooo.....you don't do the workout, you're scores on the other ones won't count in a team score either....? That's just plain stupid.

I do not think that is correct. You don't have to post a valid score on each of the 5 workouts in order to have one of your scores count for your team score.

Probably why they did a "for time" workout as the last workout of the Open. If you're going to DNF, better to have it be the last workout than the first.

I believe the rulebook says that if you don't post a score on a workout, any subsequent workouts will NOT count towards the team, but previous workouts will. So if you missed. 14.4, your 14.1, 14.2, and 14.3 scores will count for your team, but 14.5 won't.

Re: 14.5???

Has anyone seen Josh Bridges' 14.5 video? I haven't done any actual judging, but it seemed like his chest didn't touch the ground on a LOT of his burpees...

I thought the burpees were alright, but I doubt the lockout overhead on the thrusters. But I am not a certified coach, therefore I trust the people who say the workout is valid.

Re: 14.5???

I watched the Bridges video. There are definitely burpee reps where, in real time speed, anyone would think that his chest never touched. On the thrusters, again, in real time speed (which is substantial for him, he doesn't do them like Froning, who does a very pronounced pause at the top of his), it is very hard to say he locks out every one. Plus, the side view is not a great angle to see arm lockout; in fact, it's probably the worst angle. You really need to be face on. Side angle is good to determine if the hips are open, if the weight is stacked over the body properly, but there's no way to tell if the elbow are fully locked.

Re: 14.5???

I watched Bridges video. Was ridiculous.

Trust me, his chest touches and his arms lockout.

I cannot believe he beat EVERYONE by that much. 37s is a lot and he just never stopped moving. Great performance.

People need to remember that Crossfit is about doing the most work so people are going to look for every millimeter when trying to be efficient. As far as i could see Josh got the work done they asked for. He did not pause at the top but they did not ask for that, just simply hips opened arms OH with weight over mid foot.

I saw the Josh Bridges 14.5 video. Amazing performance. What a great way to end the Open for him.
